I live in a small college town and all the jobs here are taken and I can’t commute anywhere else. Where can I make money online, even if it’s only pocket money?

Fact is, I don’t think there is any good way to make money online.. otherwise everyone would do it, right? Although a friend of mine is an ebay trader – he buys loads of camera parts, does something like package them with others, or split them down into components, and sells them again for more money! No idea how..
